The Della story, part 8!
Taking a break from NaNoWriMo long enough to comment on some Della. There's only one more chapter after this, by the way. *gasp!* ( Part 8 ) |

If you like speedstories...
I also just wanted to share two of my other snarky writing projects as I'm running a little slow on updating this. http://weblog.xanga.com/quirkiness/tags/oldstories/ is a lot of my old stories that I wrote between the ages of six and nine. I'm going through, selecting some of the most interesting ones, and going through putting snarky comments on them. (These REALLY sound like my speed stories! Heh.) http://mockingmyspace.com.livejournal.com is another journal where I make fun of the absolutely terrible MySpace story bulletins that seem to make their way around the Internet far too often. (A bunch more are available at http://weblog.xanga.com/quirkiness/tags/snarking/) Although it doesn't make up for lack of speed stories, they're similar (at least *I* feel like they are), and hopefully you'll enjoy some of them. :) |

Della, Part 7!
I finally get around to part 7. There are some answers revealed here! Some of which are utter nonsense! ( Part 7 ) |

I'm BACK with speed stories!
All right, for anyone who wondered where I vanished off to... for the past year I've been working with a Christian drama group called New Life Drama Company. We travel all over the U.S. doing Christian-based skits in mostly churches, but anywhere they let us - Christian schools, prisons, rehab centers, nursing homes, on street corners and in Taco Bells. (If anyone's a fan of drama and interested in a sample, this is a skit my team did at a rec center/concert hall type place. I'm not in it, but two of my very good friends are.) It's a lot of fun... But we're kept pretty busy while on the road, so I didn't have much time to be on the computer at all, much less write speed stories. So after that brief detour about my life, I'm back with a little tiny bit of a speed story, the beginning of a longer one. I stole a plot from NaNoWriMo's Adopt-A-Plot thread on the forums. It goes thus: Beautiful woman is stranded on a deserted island for X amount of years of her life after being taken from her home at a very young age. Then after X years are up, she is taken to her home city and left on her own to adapt. And here is the gem I've come up with thus far. (I have not edited typos this time through... sometimes because I'm not sure what were typos and what were actual words I was making up in my head.) ( The Girl on the Island, part 1 ) |

L'update
(Hey! I remember this blog! *Grin* As an update, this year's NaNo went fantastic, I made it to 50k and have only about 2k or so left to go before I finish off the story. If anyone wants to read the finished product, let me know. It's a rehash of fairy tales but Prince Charming's a stalker. More silly than serious psychological drama. In fact, NO psychological drama. But now that NaNo's over, I hope to do a few speed stories in the next few days.) |
